I feel so:  indescribable
would like to share my story with everyone. So basically it was the greatest night in my life! I got to the arena a couple hours before the celebrity autograph session and patiently waited in line with my sister and my friend. When the celebrities came out Michael looked over at me and smiled, no doubt that he had recognized me from the years before. When I approached him I pulled out a picture of him as the character Adena from Sorority Boys which he gladly signed. I told him how awesome he was and then went on to tell him that I thought that his spoof of the movie Taken was one of the funniest things ever in which he replied "you should send it to all your friends". I told him I already did and that I love him. Then he shook my hand. This was really special because he didn't just shake anybody's hand, he only did it with his true fans. I was ushered away by the security guards and I turned around with camera in hand and yelled "Michael, Smile" and snapped a picture. Afterward I went and found my seat which was front row. The Thunderbirds won the first game with a score of 5 to 4. The second game was when the celebrities came out. As he skated out we waved at him and he pointed at us and smiled the hugest smile I had ever seen him smile.Michael had the microphone and he pointed at my sister and I and said "These young ladies think I look good bald." My seat was front row but wasn't behind Michael so I moved a few seats over to be closer to him. When we moved over by him, he waved at us and smiled some more. He played an excellent game and whenever he came back to sit out he talked to his fans. At one point during the game when Michael was sitting out, Ian Furness gave Michael the mike and he started singing Micheal McDonald, just like he did last year. The game progressed and by the end it was a tie game so they had to go to a tie breaker. It was at this time that I beat on the glass in front of me to get Michael's attention and yelled "Can I have your Jersey?" He smiled and said something along the lines of "I don't know, its not mine I just wear it but I will ask" He smiled and winked afterward. It ended up that I couldn't have it so I left when he skated off the ice. Even though I didn't get the jersey I left the happiest that I had ever been. We waved at him before we left and he pointed at us and waved back and he had the hugest grin on his face. This was an experience I will never forget, and I very much so look forward to going again next year |
